Theoretical physics is not part of knowledge, it is part of human thinking and reasoning that gives direction to our perspective and defines the framework of our reasoning and analysis. In my opinion, the progress of theoretical physics has a different nature from the progress of physics other sub-fields. In such a way that the progress of theoretical physics is not simply a forward movement and achieving new knowledge and new technology, that is, it is not result-oriented; instead, the progress of theoretical physics is a process that leads to a change in the way of thinking, a change in perspective, and a change in our logic, and more than increasing human knowledge, it affects human intelligence; This is why I believe that theoretical physics is a branch of human intelligence and rationality rather than a branch of science, and plays the role of the foundation of science. As a result, the necessary tools for the progress of theoretical physics are also different from the sub-fields of physics. In order to achieve results in the sub-fields of physics, acquiring new and sufficient data and having the required mathematical tools in hand is sufficient in most cases. But for theoretical physics, the situation is different. It can be said that creativity plays an important role here, because only data analysis and calculations cannot lead to the answer here. Creating new concepts and methods, providing new perspectives and techniques are required, and sometimes adopting a new way of thinking is also necessary.
One of the things that I think is inevitable to understand the nature of theoretical physics is the history of science. Theoretical physics does not only seek practical results and does not focus on a specific idea or phenomenon, therefore it has an integrated and entangled structure. To know and understand this integrated structure, it is necessary to know the evolutionary story of science, and the evolution of science can only be extracted from the history of science. This structure is what we call the foundations of physics. foundations of Physics actually have the essence of physics at its heart, and it is right at the point where the history of science and scientific findings come together.
If we think of physics as a tree, theoretical physics is the trunk of the tree and different branches of physics originate from this trunk, and foundations of physics play the role of the root of this tree.
Over time, layers are added to this trunk, new branches and stems grow, and sometimes some twigs and leaves fall. But the most important factor for the strength and growth of this tree is its root. A deep and strong root will result in a fruitful and lasting tree.
I would like to study, research, and delve into the foundations of physics, fundamental concepts of physics, and get to the root of the laws of physics. Analyzing the basic theories about nature, both from conceptual and historical aspects, is my main hobby.
